PIEDRA
PIEDRA is a small shop in Barcelona, specialising in shoes and accessories for women, founded by us, Mireia Montañés and Cristina Casasayas. We met working together in a fashion store in the neighbourhood of Sarrià – Sant Gervasi and from there we had the idea of creating our own store, using the experience we had built in the fashion industry.
We opened the store in October 2017, in a small and charming location, just in front of Turó Parc, a beautiful, familiar park.
Our interest in Scandinavian design led us to create a space that breaths minimalism and warmth whilst keeping just the essential features of the space itself. Simplicity, quality and authenticity are fundamental concepts in PIEDRA. The selection we make every season follows this principle too: we truly believe that the objects that surround us must be durable, respectful to the environment and beautiful. In the specific case of the shoes, we know they must be functional and comfortable too.
VALUES
We see this trade not just as a business but also as a way to enhance social welfare. It improves the quality of life in our neighbourhoods and contributes to creating more authentic, egalitarian and good natured-cities. At first glance we have a commercial relationship with our neighbours and clients but often these grow into more caring relationships over time. We take care of our close surroundings and build business around us. On a wider scale, we collaborate also with creators and producers that we know work using ethic principles that help contribute to common prosperity and an equal society.
